The Last Teaching a Guru tells his disciple when the Gurukul life ends!
Vedic scriptures advice that a disciple should live in the direct association of his guru for a certain years and by serving his guru.
The guru should teach the disciples Vedic knowledge and the arts and skills as required by the disciples.
TAITTIRIYA UPANISHAD SAYS:
After learning the vast syllabus in direct association with the guru, the disciples would be ready to leave the gurukul.
Hereafter they can marry, lead a grahastha life helping the sanyasis, brahmanas and poor, and then detach from sex life and finally get sanyasa.
During this long process, they may come across many situations in which they may have to lie.
But, when a disciple lies, he loses all the glories he gained through his guru.
So, as said by Taittiriya Upanishad, to prevent his disciples from lying in future that may ruin their spiritual standing, the guru sends his disciples by giving the following LAST advice to his disciples:
"NEVER UTTER A LIE IN YOUR LIFE"
