Is Golden Thali / Mangal Sutra recommended by the scriptures?

Usually, thaali is worn as yellow thread yellowished using turmeric.

Now a days, many women are wearing thali in the gold chain.

It has become a fashion.

The question is that which is recommended - Thali gold chain or Thali thread?

Scriptures recommend Yellow thread to be used as thali or mangal sutra.

The Durga Ashtotra says:

"Kamecha baththa mangalya sutra Sobitha"

This means that one should wear mangal sutra only in the yellow thread.

It is auspicious and powerful that is able to give goodness to the family.
