THREE BIRTHS OF JAYA & VIJAYA - GATE KEEPERS OF VAIKUNTA!

The gatekeeprs of Jaya and Vijaya were cursed by Kumaras (sons of Brahma) to take birth as demons because they stopped the Kumaras from entering into the vaikunta.

So, they took three births as demons.

They are:

(1) Hiranyakasipu and Hiranyaksha as the sons of Thithi and were killed by the Varaha avatar of Lord Vishnu and Narasimha avatar of Lord Vishnu respectively.

(2) As Ravana and Kumbakarna as the sons of Visrava and Kesini and killed by Lord Ramachandra

(3) In the third birth, jaya & Vijaya took birth as the sons of the sister of the mother of Yudhishtra namely Shishupala and Dantavakra who were killed by Krishna.
