Tulasi for Vishnu and bael for Siva for worship - Why do the scriptures recommend so?

Vishnu is cool.

Because, He is residing in the water. "Nara" means water. "Yana" means "sleeper"

Narayana means sleeper in water.

Siva is hot.

That is why, Siva sends out fire from His forehead.

Siva can burn anything just through His sight of third eye.

Tulasi is recommended for cold because it calms down the cooling state, making the body temperature normal.

So, Narayana /Vishnu / Krishna are offered Tulasi in worship to optimize their cold nature..

Bael gives good cooling effect.

Since Siva is too hot, we use Bael to offer to Siva to cool down His body.

Every worship ritual has a science behind it in our dharma.
